Spanky's Grille was a long time dream of Ben Zak. On May 16th, 1999 Jennifer Cooper married him anyway. The couple bought a commercial lot in 2001and in 2002 Narrow Shores started construction. On July 19th, 2003 Spanky's grille opened for business. The restaurant has been a favorite of locals and visitors ever since.

 

     Spankys feels their success is based on one word; value.  Every day of the week they serve .79 all beef hot dogs, $2 sandwiches, and on Friday nights they offer a choice of homemade meatloaf, slow cooked roast beef, open face turkey, or a 1/2 pound hamburger steak with gravy and one side for only $4.99.   

 

      What do people think about Spankys?  The Urban Spoon ranked Spanky's as one of the top 10 cheap eats in North Carolina (2012& 2013), Trip Advisor named Spankys as one of the top 20 restaurants on the East Coast (2012) and the people voted Spanky's as the #1 restaurant on the Outer Banks 'OBXE' (2012).
